THE DARK HORSES.......

Heyyyy Friends....this is something that I had to post long back but wasn't able...Anyways,This was when we won 2nd place in the most elite KAWRE Inter Engineering Collegiate Cricket Tournament(Much deserved win...!!!!!!!!!!)
Friends, being in the final year of our Engg,we all were so hell-bent doing some real hardwork on the field...and seriously it was fruitful.....
As we don't have a proper ground to practice(the empty patch where the temporary parking
resides,VIIT LORDS as we call it, would shame any International ground tho'...hehe...cuz' there is more possibility of injuries than proper cricket practice...),still we were fortunate enough to get Shinde college's nets for practicing,duration-2 hrs,money-7 thousands/month(luckily we got it for a month.thnxxx to our College)....
I still vividly remember, earlier only five to six team members turned up....everyone was so very frustrated....it kept on happening for some days....and then ADI(Super Adi),one of my teammates(needless to say a very good player),penned down a beautiful poem, that had loads of sarcasm in it...thoughtful poem it was !!!!
It really helped wake our conscience,I swear ..!!!!!(Facebook helped...) And then it was PARRY
(parikshit),the another fabulous player of our team, who slaughtered us like hell(everyone deserved it...no complaints)...I am very thankful that he scolded us that very moment..Had it not been for him,we would have been somewhere else(at least I would have been!!!!!).....
Thereafter, everyone was back, with full zeal, enthusiasm and a passion for the very trophy(Kawre trophy was our College team's dream..n ths was d 8th year...)...Mistakes were realised...we really put in our heart and soul for this trophy....injured shins, cramped legs,blue-black swollen fingers, didn't really affect us...(plenty of relisprays and doctor's tapes helped....)We were determined for that one trophy(we had a dream in our minds that we kept watching with open eyes)...We even practiced at Government Polytechnic College Pune for some days(afternoon 2pm to 5.30pm...scorching sun's heat couldn't fade away our enthusiasm...400 Rs per day,we all contributed...very few know this....)
'THE DARK HORSES' we were..!!!!! 'It was all posssible due to a good team effort...and we seriously stole the Runner up trophy from others....!!!!!!!
I won't say we lost the finals...cuz' we actually won a trophy for VIIT(dream came true 4 all of
us...)...thanxxxx to the effort of my team,VIIT CRICKET TEAM.....!!!!!!!!!
Love you all guys,......we did it..!!!!!!!!!

Phew....Teaching's tough !!!!!

Hello friends....So buddies i am back with an experience that left me dazed for a while...
Me and some of my friends(7 of us) had participated in an event called "Students' Awareness Programme '09" organised by IEEE....Through which, we gotto teach some concepts to the rural as well as urban part of the city(grade 9th and 10th)...i know we are bad learners but still all decided to try ourselves at teaching stuff(funny, isn't it..???!!!!!!)
We made them all acquianted with the topics like "Hybrid vehicles" and" Communication"(sounds pretty tough though, right??? it surely was..!!!!!)....Needless to say,the urban students had an upper hand regarding some stuff....But guys this gap really needs to bridge up if we wish to be so called "Superpower nation"....Anyways this is not exactly why Iam here???
While we were on our way, searching for the school to let ourselves share something with them,we came across the 'eagerness' and 'hungry to learn' behaviour of the people...They were all ears to us...And then when me and my friend Ajinkya were enjoying beautiful curvy ride to a place called Sambhave,we came across a school....Students had been back to their homes, but we managed talking to one of their teachers...He felt so very sorry that it was our last day and that he and his students had really missed something very useful....He still insisted us to visit his remote place, where students really need such aid regarding education...The dedication of that teacher could really have shamed any of the professionals around...The teacher was so hell bent explaining things to us that we both were awestruck(for a moment we had really forgotten that we were there for a competition!!!!!)...The efforts taken by teachers like him are simply amazing...
I don't want to debate nor want to sound like a competitor in an extempore kinda thing...But what bugs me is, are we really heading towards progress???? surely yes,but at what cost???? The fact that the condition in the outskirts of our very own Pune is this worse then we can hardly imagine what the outside scenario is...!!!!!
I do believe that man is a social animal and so we all have a role to play for our society....And I genuinely know, there's no point voicing one's opinion like this than to really do something constructive....
Some incidents do strike you so much that we end up thinking like this...And I am not an exception to it...Just felt like sharing it...Else its on you friends...!!!!!!!!
