Merry Christmas buddies :)

Dashing through the snow
In a one horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the way
Bells on bob tails ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to laugh and sing
A sleighing song tonight

Godddd, goosebums are so very involuntary(i njoyyyy 'em ...hehe :p)...this is wat i mostly end up getting wen these words echo around...Right from the Childhood, I have had a penchant for X'mas(Thnxxxx to my ALMA MATER,my School,St.Joseph's)...The bliss and cheerfulness around kind of rejuvenates one, if am not being on a hyperbolic side of the facts...hehe...
This afternoon,a candid talk wit my frnd ('G' as we call her,Gauri she is!!!!!) made me land up in nostalgia...I still vividly remember, back down in school, once out of curiosity, i touched Santa claus's  milky white beard(I so very wanted to pull it out...hahahahaha)...the chocolates and the gifts Santa had for us were much of what v actually eyed....!!!!!Ended up in petty fights then... V all were hell of a notorious lot in school(yeah!!! now we r not!!! to be specific...:P).....I could write several things having got this topic...
Guys,just wishing yu a very MERRY X'MAS...!!!!!!
May all yur beautiful wishes cme true..(Fingers crossed 4 mine too.... :) )
Keep rocking...!!!!!!!!
:)

Catch yu later...!!!!!

Happy Independence Day to everyone...!!!!!
Since childhood these beautiful lines have echoed on this auspicious day "15th August" every now and then..A masterpiece by the maestro himself...Rabindranath Tagore had framed this poem not just to awake people but also to improve the then Indian plight..Our country has come up well,I must say..!!!!
I simply luv these lines-
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake!!!!!

A fine sunday afternoon.....

Hello friends...Wish yu all a very Happy Friendship Week...:)
Spent very quality moments with my college friends...School friends also showed up at d perfect time to double the cherishing moments...(Thank you FRIENDS!!!!)
But earlier in the afternoon when rain God showered His blessings in abundance I had to go find myself a safer place so that I don't catch cold being already a li'l sick(I did eventually catch cold anyways!!!!!) Crossword came to my rescue...!!!!!
I began searching for a good book and then finally got one after a while(thnxxx to d management)...
When i stepped out a boy, sober n innocent carrying a bag of incense sticks interrupted me..!!!!(Gajanan was his name). Prima facie things are not d same as they appear...I firstly refused buying those incense sticks..but then he added...
"Sir,I go to school.Iam a 9th std student n m doing ths so that I can pay my fees dis monday..This incense sticks would cost you meagre 30 Rs but will fetch me 2 Rs on each pack...I gotto collect 500.." Dunno why i fall very easily to such situations????
I enquired about his school n his family...And was more than shocked to hear that hehad lost his father last year and that he was the only one elder aftr his Mum...and all i cud do was buy those sticks!!!!!
when I sat down last night n pondered whether I was fooled by him or juz paid my share by helping him???!!!!!One thing is for sure that i gave my Cadbury Crackle equivalent to him(no matter for good or not cuz' anyhow itz gonna help him financially....!!!!!)
And d fact that Gajanan would be able to pay the fees, still remains a mystery..!!!!!

An era comes to an End.....

Hello friends.....Like always,so many things kept me busy...or may be it was too lazy of me to post about...Anyways,My Final year exam was one of it..!!!!!!
Yeah,m done with my exams(were good though...)
The moment i wrote my last word on the answer sheet and that last full stop made my heart breathe a sigh of relief....."Now,no more, 3 hours exam to stress out the mind like hell", said it happily.....
But seriously speaking,The inner Shail's heart doesn't want it to get over....From now on no classes(that v hardly attented...),no canteen timepass...nothing...!!!!! its over...!!!!("Only for the good",explains and consoles 'my heart'....)
The joyous feeling of end of Engg is far more lesser than parting with the college and friends...needless to say, i would miss everyone...
And after the project thing is over, everyone would step into the newer world,on the path towards their career...
The change is ought to come for the revolution to happen....Something that would transform the life into an entirely different thing...!!!!!!
Life moves on and so do we....!!!!!!!
The thing is that these four years have bestowed me, millions of memories to cherish for my life...I feel miraculously lucky to having got those(Sometimes I sit down and wonder what made me so fortunate..!!!!!!!)...An era(14th July 2006 to 13th June 2010.....) comes to an end....
All the best buddies...!!!!!! May each one of you reach the pinnacle and reach your goal one day...!!!!!!!

THE DARK HORSES.......

Heyyyy Friends....this is something that I had to post long back but wasn't able...Anyways,This was when we won 2nd place in the most elite KAWRE Inter Engineering Collegiate Cricket Tournament(Much deserved win...!!!!!!!!!!)
Friends, being in the final year of our Engg,we all were so hell-bent doing some real hardwork on the field...and seriously it was fruitful.....
As we don't have a proper ground to practice(the empty patch where the temporary parking
resides,VIIT LORDS as we call it, would shame any International ground tho'...hehe...cuz' there is more possibility of injuries than proper cricket practice...),still we were fortunate enough to get Shinde college's nets for practicing,duration-2 hrs,money-7 thousands/month(luckily we got it for a month.thnxxx to our College)....
I still vividly remember, earlier only five to six team members turned up....everyone was so very frustrated....it kept on happening for some days....and then ADI(Super Adi),one of my teammates(needless to say a very good player),penned down a beautiful poem, that had loads of sarcasm in it...thoughtful poem it was !!!!
It really helped wake our conscience,I swear ..!!!!!(Facebook helped...) And then it was PARRY
(parikshit),the another fabulous player of our team, who slaughtered us like hell(everyone deserved it...no complaints)...I am very thankful that he scolded us that very moment..Had it not been for him,we would have been somewhere else(at least I would have been!!!!!).....
Thereafter, everyone was back, with full zeal, enthusiasm and a passion for the very trophy(Kawre trophy was our College team's dream..n ths was d 8th year...)...Mistakes were realised...we really put in our heart and soul for this trophy....injured shins, cramped legs,blue-black swollen fingers, didn't really affect us...(plenty of relisprays and doctor's tapes helped....)We were determined for that one trophy(we had a dream in our minds that we kept watching with open eyes)...We even practiced at Government Polytechnic College Pune for some days(afternoon 2pm to 5.30pm...scorching sun's heat couldn't fade away our enthusiasm...400 Rs per day,we all contributed...very few know this....)
'THE DARK HORSES' we were..!!!!! 'It was all posssible due to a good team effort...and we seriously stole the Runner up trophy from others....!!!!!!!
I won't say we lost the finals...cuz' we actually won a trophy for VIIT(dream came true 4 all of
us...)...thanxxxx to the effort of my team,VIIT CRICKET TEAM.....!!!!!!!!!
Love you all guys,......we did it..!!!!!!!!!

Individual Awards...
Gourav Baraskar,Captain VIIT -Man Of the Match(MoM),league match...
Aditya Singh- MoM,league match...
Myself- MoM for the Quarters and Semis(for my 5 wickets haul in both)..
-And 'BEST BOWLER of the Touranament...'

Phew....Teaching's tough !!!!!

Hello friends....So buddies i am back with an experience that left me dazed for a while...
Me and some of my friends(7 of us) had participated in an event called "Students' Awareness Programme '09" organised by IEEE....Through which, we gotto teach some concepts to the rural as well as urban part of the city(grade 9th and 10th)...i know we are bad learners but still all decided to try ourselves at teaching stuff(funny, isn't it..???!!!!!!)
We made them all acquianted with the topics like "Hybrid vehicles" and" Communication"(sounds pretty tough though, right??? it surely was..!!!!!)....Needless to say,the urban students had an upper hand regarding some stuff....But guys this gap really needs to bridge up if we wish to be so called "Superpower nation"....Anyways this is not exactly why Iam here???
While we were on our way, searching for the school to let ourselves share something with them,we came across the 'eagerness' and 'hungry to learn' behaviour of the people...They were all ears to us...And then when me and my friend Ajinkya were enjoying beautiful curvy ride to a place called Sambhave,we came across a school....Students had been back to their homes, but we managed talking to one of their teachers...He felt so very sorry that it was our last day and that he and his students had really missed something very useful....He still insisted us to visit his remote place, where students really need such aid regarding education...The dedication of that teacher could really have shamed any of the professionals around...The teacher was so hell bent explaining things to us that we both were awestruck(for a moment we had really forgotten that we were there for a competition!!!!!)...The efforts taken by teachers like him are simply amazing...
I don't want to debate nor want to sound like a competitor in an extempore kinda thing...But what bugs me is, are we really heading towards progress???? surely yes,but at what cost???? The fact that the condition in the outskirts of our very own Pune is this worse then we can hardly imagine what the outside scenario is...!!!!!
I do believe that man is a social animal and so we all have a role to play for our society....And I genuinely know, there's no point voicing one's opinion like this than to really do something constructive....
Some incidents do strike you so much that we end up thinking like this...And I am not an exception to it...Just felt like sharing it...Else its on you friends...!!!!!!!!

A heroic attempt....

Heyyy Friends....Sorry for being so late for the post(okay,am sounding as if you people were awaiting for this real moment..hahaha..)
Anyways jokes apart...Guys,this one's about my Bro's heroic attempt to help a girl out ultimately saving her life....(sounds gud naaa..!!!!)
So this took place, when my brother Rahul(pursuing M.Tech,ICT,Mumbai) happen to pass by a lonely road ...It ws quarter to 12 at night, and trust me its not that late for a 'frustrated with life' Mumbaikar student(hehe)....Taking a good walk down the memory lane and thinking about everything that has brought him there(ICT,Mumbai),he i.e Rahul began admiring things around him...(Needless to say he was new to the very place called 'Mumbai')...
He stopped by the favourite juice bar finding it open at that moment too(some monetary aid to the police can help you do profit in the night too, thought he...)
Suddenly a girl, more of a celestial nymph caught his eyes....she was in the car and was so adorable, that he couldn't stop himself admiring her....He was so very engrossed that he hardly noticed her calling him....Yeah,she waved at him(and i tell you his heart would have pounded double the normal times)...coming back to the senses, with loads of adrenaline pushing him harder,he went closer...She was alone in the car...locked...yupp,she juz couldn't get out even if she wanted....The powerful window glass prevented them from communicating...and then, nothing but only the Goddesss of damcharades could help him....she was choking,,,her expressions explained it all....all of a sudden, every wannabe gathered around the car,but refused to help her out fearing about the worst condition....But this guy,Rahul had some other thing in mind...I don't know, what made him so hell bent to help the girl, was it her mesmerising beauty or just the innocence of this 'small town boy'?????(actually, the second one suits people like us...)
Through the gestures of the girl,he understood that her boyfriend had been to a place nearby to have a puff of cigarette...Still he began searching that maniac0('maniac' cuz he solely was responsible for her plight )...And after some three to five minutes of treasure hunt with no clues watsoever,he finally found him..... narrated the thing to that guy....Both rushed and rescued the girl...She broke down to tears and thanked my bro from the bottom of her heart....And then Claps all around made the silence to vanish for some time....
Rahul, the heroic Rahul enjoyed this warm feeling of rescuing someone and when its a beautiful girl, joy doubles(hehe)....And the best part was, that some of the jealous eyes on him made him cheer like hell...In a way being so adventurous he started loving the city,MUMBAI......he was so very happy to help her out..and why not???? cuz' he just did that, what we just dream sometimes.... naaa??? I am proud of you bro...!!!!!

A moral patron....

Hello Friends...Well,wish yu all A Happy Holi..May this festival of colours fill your lives with happiness....
Its been quite a long time, almost a month for me to write...Actually there were several things that kept me busy....Here's one...
Its about a Friend,a senior,a teammate,a well-wisher,a wonderful person and a patriot.....Friends,he is Gentlemen's Cadet(GC) ANAND WAIKAR,Indian Military Academy,Dehradun...
Prima facie, I really wished I could be like this guy....And I got my chance when I first went for the College Cricket team trials captained by Wai(as v used to call him).....And d worst thng anyone would want at his 1st day happened to me...Guess wat???? i was late and late by 30 minutes....Those scoldings I received from him can never be forgotten...Some of his words comprised these lines,"Remember,yu owe a lot for this college n nt d other way around...Team has won without yu and can win further too no matter how talented yu are...yu got to be in time if yu wish to be in the side"....."TIME IS PRECIOUS" thought I.....
From then on this happy go lucky person taught beautiful lessons of life to me....
A very hardworking this guy is...Good in acads...Plays many sports very well and d fact that he got the 'Best Sportsman of The Year Award' at his time explains everything...He stood second in All India Merit list to enter IMA,Dehradun...and fortunately we get to meet him Last month...
Sitting on the CCD couch he shared pretty much IMA stuff with us...The rigourous training(untill yu start limping with cramps pulling you down),punctuality, unity, and everything....After hearing so many things the image of armymen I had in me rose like hell to the next level...Really,its very tough to survive in those critical conditions...And our officers make this pretty sure that they bring the worst out of their men...And Wai proving 'em at each point that he is not gonna let go very easily(his determination is adorable,i tell yu)....
Seriously people, in Army you are taught only one thing"UNITY"...no issues,no politics, selfishness is far away(I wish v could at least be half sincere like these people towards whatever we are asked for)...there's only one thing these people live for and that is "Their Motherland,INDIA".....The patriotism Wai had in his eyes shone brightly enlightening us all(v cud see Wai,a changed personel)....The golden lessons I got to learn from him have helped me every now and then(trust me he cared like a elder brother)...Such is the charm of him that yu r left Spellbound under his company...N now he is serving d country... Iam what Iam because of him(miss him a lot).....
I just wish someday I pay my share for the betterment of the society and gradually our country(I genuinely wsh, I do...)....!!!!!!!!

Sticking to basics.....

Hello friends....College has commenced, but attending lectures as usual is not hot favourite...The main event SYZYGY '10,Annual Social Gathering was innaugurated by our Principal yesterday....Was the reason for double rejoice for all of us being Makar Sankranti too...!!!!!
We had fun and even did some jigs on the "Dhol Tashe" that accompanied us...Respecting the tradition we also flew kites...Many were seen hovering in the sky in no time....The site looked awesome with some paper crackers joining the party...!!!!! Specially thank you friends for making that day so memorable for me...
Next day(today) we were all set to attend the college practicals...Just then this haapened..
Apart from practical education our professors make sure that we do stand tall in the outside harsh world...As they say "Survival of the fittest"..So one of the finest professors in our college,Murugan Sir just narrated us with a story to start with....
He began....Once there was a man who wanted to have his so called "Paaps" to be washed away, went to a rower for a ride in the Holy river Ganga on a small boat..On their way,the man questioned the rower,"Bhaiya(brother) have you read Ramayana???"The man replied," No,Saahib." "Then your life has been a waste",said the man...Questions again,"Okay, what about Mahabharata???"The rower,"Ummm...No Saahib"..."Then I am afraid your life has really been a mess brother",cursed the man....After a while,in the centre of the river the poor rower asks,"Saahib,do you swim??"Man answered,"No,I haven't got any time really..."To this,he replies,"I am sorry Saahib because unfortunately there has been a hole in the boat and to save our lives all that can be done is swim...."
Further Sir added,"Students, you all know what happens next....The main crux here is that you all should stick to the basics...Remember,no matter how talented you are you gotto to be perfect in what you've learnt throughout your engineering, may it be your technical knowledge from the First to Final year or the ethics.."(This was supposed to be a taunt for a person in our batch but nope I am not gonna go in details...)
Seriously buddies Sir taught us a very good lesson as to,"Aiming the sky with our feet grounded...." Very often we tend to forget some vital basic stuff that really matters.....Mere idol worshipping and hardly putting meagre efforts is not gonna be of any help...We gotto believe in ourselves..Only then there is a chance of succeeding in all our endeavours....!!!!!!!!!
What say buddies????????

Something above blood relations.....

Heyy guys...here's one more incident that kind of stuck me straight in the heart....
As I am very much fond of 'Chaat',went to a place where i often go....And God,that man has got some magic in his hand cuz' the bhel and masala puri he makes is one of the bests I have ever had till date....That fine day when i ws doing up with my 'masala puri',there came a lady with her kid...
Now,the kid,5 i guess, as usual was busy doing crazy stuff...Stubborn as he seemed, his Mum kept chasing him up....And I must say guys, its not good sneaking in other people's conversation...But some do teach you good ethics....
The woman greeted the man firstly...They seemed to be familiar from ages...Both of them enquired of each other's life...And found both lead a good life actually...Pretty satisfied with what they had...And then the woman asked how his two sons were...the man replied to her that they were good...One did a job(clerk) and the other was in the Higher Secondary College...the man seemed contented with this, but confessed a thing to her that he always wanted a baby girl in his family(What a noble thought, not many of his status think like this..!!!!!) Well, the lady answered beautifully to him....She said,"Its okay Uncle, both your sons are pretty helping and understand their responsibilities, duties towards their family...And any ways I am always there for you whenever you need a Daughter...And I know, you know that...You've always been there for me and my family....I still remember, when I was small, playing at your house, those notorious things I used to do...Everything..!!! And this relation I share, sorry 'we share' is not less than a Father-Daughter one..." The man couldn't not hold up his tears...And i even noticed some rolling down his cheeks....
Seriously, friends in this cruel, harsh world where blood-brothers are in war with each other,we do end up finding some relations that have no defination as in..But mean a lot to those who are associated with it....Everyone loves his/her family..But some relations may it be Friendship,Love or the one mentioned above do strike a chord in one's heart that teach you loads of facts...With such relations I have learnt pretty nice stuff...Am sure somewhere down the line you all did too...!!!!!!!!!!!

New Year Celebrations....

Hello Friends,Sorry to be this late for the next blog.. The whole world was busy in celebrating the new year 2010 in some way or the another..and of course,me too....Well,first things first, wish you all a very Happy New Year 2010....May all your wishes come true and you have a flamboyant year ahead...!!!!!! Here's how we celebrated..!! On 31st, we bid adieu to 2009 and embraced the coming year by cutting the cake...we friends simply spent some quality time and played cricket under street lights(we are wierdos you would be thinking...!!!! )Next day(i.e. on 1st of Jan) we decided to go out for a trek... Rajgad(love trekking)..!!!!!!And I tell you buddies,we really had a very good experience...Some 120 odd kmph of cool biking and such a great trek simply thrills you...Reading about a Fort in a book and personally visiting it, is altogether a different thing...The vastness and greatness of the Fort just mesmerizes you...pushes you to go on a thought ride into the past(actually i did go...)I always wondered how did people manage getting to such a height??? and what were those people made up of???It took us 4 odd hours to get there at the peak, our legs asking for rest at suitable intervals...But trust me guys, once you get at the top,you cannot ask for more...The beauty of the fort leaves you in a kind of trance...The landscapes all around so cheer you up that all your pains vanish...And nothing but the lime water that you get there quenches your thirst!!!!!!!! The cool breeze wipes all your sweat out...you leave all your anxieties aside and forget about the things that kept bugging you...its just you,The Fort and the peaceful wonderful environment at your service...And then at the peak like always we recited "Shivgarjana"...after which we all ended up getting goosebumps...!!!!I would love to thank some of my friends who made this trek possible...firstly Zingo(Pratik Zingade) and Vadya(Varun Deshpande)..it was their plan...then,there was Dhappa(Dhanashree Palande),Sisou(Pratik sisode),Jinky(Ajinkya)...Love you guys...!!!! On 2nd,we friends had a small celebration at Friend's place(Ankit Machchar)...and i tell you we all had a blast....Music,dance(although I am not much into it,enjoyed Ganpati visarjan sort of freestyle thing..)..The corn bhel(trust me,my friend Karan, the GS of our college is just awesome at it...),softdrinks and the food as usual very delicious...After this, all had a game of UNO and BLUFF(Uno being my favourite)...The first two days were pretty cool for me...and I am sure,it(2010) has much more to offer...!!!!Lets see what's waiting for us in the future...till then take care folks...!!!!!!
