Totally perplexed, Daniel, with a heavy heart walked back
pondering endlessly as to why his name had to be there at the centre of the
sign?!
Suddenly, he collapsed onto the ground, which made him wake up. His blurried vison could not rationalize what had happened. Rubbing his eyes, Dan tried contemplating . Was it a dream? Or an illusion? Or a high class hallucination?

He was high on drugs but last night he had none. A mere thought of the dreadful
incident sent shivers down his bones. He knew not, a single reason to the
incident. Wolves' and owls' howling made it even darker. Crickets and several
nocturnal creepy things made it much worse. Just then, Dan realized the oldie’s
face, he had seen it before. Those red, sunken, sleep deprived eyes could not
slip outta his eyes, the nail locket he remembers seeing at the metro station
Santonia. He knew now, that all this was real. But what bugged him was, why his
name? why Daniel ?
Meanwhile, far, far in the meadows, Somewhere, drunk people
surrounded a bonfire and kept singing or rather hissing hymns towards the
Almighty and the Evils both. They wore black hooded robes covering their heads.
It seemed like a ritual. One of them, then murmured raising his glass, “To
Sazon, May he succeed in his mission, Only for the good. ” Rest of them
followed, “Only for the good.”
Sazon, a tall wheaty, bald oldie, was on a mission. On the
death of his beloved wife, he was so engrossed in the grief that he kept
kissing her hand for hours until he bit the flesh out of her dead cold hand ripping
it off. Eye-witnesses say, he drank some
of her blood too and this is what makes people believe that Sazon was mentally
unstable after the sad incident .
The very next morning, he left a note over his wife’s
tombstone,
“Whosoever do this to you Honey.. He pay for it. In the name of Evils I swear,
He pay for it. Promise”
No one knows as of now as to where he went. Some believe
Sazon’s wife keeps visiting her home every 17th of the month at
mid-night, just to wish Sazon his b’day (she died the same day). And not
finding him there, she screams her heart out making people shit their pants in
horror..
To be contd..
