Dark, pitch dark it was! The foul odour around filled into
the nostrils hinting his senses that the scene around must be a graveyard. 20
min or may be more, he kept on moving, walking his way out through dried grass
rustling against the trousers. Time must have been around mid-night. Moreover, it
was a no moon day(Or night as some may prefer calling). The cries of owls and
wolves were hovering inside his head and his heart was pounding harder, with
every step he took, there was a rush of blood inside his rustic body.
His sight soon adapted to the dark vision and his enlarged
eye balls could now picture every single thing around. An old graveyard waited to welcome him. What he saw later made
his heart skip some beats. There stood, an old man, possibly in his seventies,
baldie, sleep deprived sunken eyes, with a blanket around covering his vital
parts. Not to be discovered, the visitor hid himself behind one of the tombstone and tried to fathom what those weird actions carried out by the oldie could
possibly mean!
There, right at the centre of four tombs was a sign, chalked
out with a sharp equipment . It resembled a star with five vertices. At the
centre of this sign, was a skull. The lower two vertices were occupied by a ‘X’
arrangement made out of bones, the upper vertex had a special stone and it used
to glitter at regular interval. What seemed like a tiger’s nail and a rhino’s
horn occupied the other two vertices of the sign. Later on, the oldie raised
both his hands and facing the sky murmured something, being inaudible, all he
could hear was hissing. In no time, the oldie's hands searched out for something
in the sack he carried, and took out the thing. The visitor was horrified
seeing a neck-slit head of a bull which the oldie held by the horns. Blood
was dripping from the head, it was fresh blood. Holding it, the oldie made a
circular movement around the sign and raising the head drank some blood from
it. Sickening and nauseating for the
visitor, he felt like his intestines shrunk against his stomach. He wanted to puke but refrained
from doing that. He then, preferred closing his eyes for a moment. The horror made him do that.
After a while, on opening his eyes he was dazed furthermore.
The oldie doing crazy stuffs had vanished along with all the things over the
sign. The place around looked more calm and serene. Was it an illusion/
hallucination?
Well, courageously, the visitor hurried towards the sign to discover that the place where he saw the skull had been placed, bore a message beneath..

“RIP Daniel”
Totally perplexed, the visitor had no clue as to why his own name happened to be there !
To be contd.
